I began
showing dogs in confirmation in 1989. I originally had Akitas as my first
breed. My first Akita, Seiko, has gone to the rainbow bridge.
We miss her terribly. Seiko is also pictured below in our family
portrait from a few years ago. I am a member of the Lone
Star Akita Club and have been since 1989. I no longer raise and show
Akitas, but if you are looking for a breeder or information I probably can
point you in the right direction.
In 1993 I
become interested in Shibas. I'm sure part of their charm was that Shibas
resemble their Japanese cousin the Akita.
After
careful consideration, I got my first Shiba in the fall of 1994. His name
is Taichung Seize the Day, better known as Caesar.
Caesar is has earned points towards his AKC Championship, but is now
retired to being a couch potato. He is pictured below in our family
portrait. When Caesar joined the family I also joined the National Shiba
Club of America and I am still a member to date.
My next
Shiba was San Jo Judy in Disguise. Judy
came to us in January of 1997. She was almost a year old when she joined
our family. Judy is a real sweetheart and more of a lap dog than most
Shibas I know. She is also very good with our twin daughters. She has both
and AKC and an International championship and many Best of Breed
awards. Judy is now also retired and may be shown occasionally as a
veteran.
Misa is our
newest addition. She joined us in January 2003. She is the
most gorgeous shiba I have yet to see. I have very high hopes
for her and she is taking it all in stride.
All of our dogs reside
in the house along side our twin daughters. I think that a
well-socialized, well-mannered dog is of the utmost importance, and taking
a beginning obedience class with your Shibas is very valuable. I am a
member of the National Shiba Club of
America and abide by their code of ethics. All Shibas that we breed
have been screened for health problems-hips OFA'ed,
eyes CERF'd, patellas
checked. All of our puppies are sold on a contract so that all parties
understand the guarantees and responsibilities. All companion puppies will
be required to be spayed or neutered.

Shibas in general, go to About
Shibas or our links page. For more about our human family visit Paige
